Watersports at Bawdsey
Bawdsey Quay Watersports Centre is on the north bank of the River Deben estuary, opposite Felixstowe Ferry on the Suffolk coast. With access to the mouth of the river at all states of the tide, we have both river and sea sailing areas which offer safe learning environments for beginners. More experienced sailors will enjoy the more challenging waters offshore.
BQWC is licensed by the Royal Yachting Association and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. The Centre is inspected annually to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. Our courses are accredited by the RYA.
The Centre has different classes of sailing dinghies including Picos, Toppers, Lasers and Wayfarers. Safety boats are always on the water when sailing takes place.
Courses can be residential. The Beach Houses are next to the Watersports Centre and are most suitable for groups. See Accommodation for more information. A minimum number of participants will be required to make courses viable.
